Many decades ago a new acquaintance graced me with a blind date opportunity that I accepted with a certain measure of trepidation. Anyway, the arranged night followed with my usual anxiety and awkwardness obvious to my date—a cute, petite charm. As the evening waned to a conclusion, she resisted no more then said, “you should learn to relax, be yourself, be natural.” To this I mused less than a minute before thinking “well, isn’t that rich with hypocrisy; wisdom worth giving is wisdom worth taking. Be yourself, be natural, use a jackhammer to remove that makeup.”
